The 'other' woman

I have always had my suspicions about my husband.
Too good of a guy to not have some sort of secret addiction...cause they say it's the really good ones that surprise us.
Well I found his.

The Blackberry was obviously invented by a man who just had to make sure it could do every possible 'guy' thing possible like check scores of any game being played at anytime (including church), and that includes FANTASY FOOTBALL...which is the source of serious contention in our house. And to make matters worse, it is the NFL and college football season. Anyway, I just had to vent and want any other women out there who have husbands with this 'other woman' problem, to know that you have my empathy. Oh yeah and when he thinks he is really being funny, he calls it "Trixie"...hilarious.

You WILL bleed red!!

We took Camryn to her first Utes football game this weekend and she is now an official Utes fan. It's just what eventually has to happen when you are part of the Osborn family. Actually, there is really is no choice. Even though I graduated from BYU and had quite a fantastic college experience there, over the last five years that I have been in the Osborn family, I have slowly and in some ways subtly been transformed into a Utah fan. For example, one day I noticed that my car had a new license plate cover on it...a "University of Utah alumni" license plate cover. I reminded Bryan that first of all it was my car and that I am not U of U alumni. He just said, "Come on babe, it's time we just forget that you ever went to BYU." Needless to say he has serious antipathy towards Utah County and especially my alma mater. Anyway by now I have put so many hours into U of U football and comforted my heartbroken husband and father-in -law after some disappointing losses, that I am acquiescing and making it official that I am too, a Ute fan.. you win babe.

She really got into the National Anthem!!

Camryn's cousin Bree took her to sit in the Student Section...so cool!

"man stabbed by wife over 'to-do' list"

I am going to remind Bryan of this story next time he tells me to stop nagging him about his to-do-list! And...it happened in sweet lil old Utah!! THIS REALLY HAPPENED!

Who watches this trash?

Umm...that would be me and I am referring to the 60th annual Emmy Awards that were on last night. I am usually reminded after one of these awards shows that I am one of the few people left who actually watch them when I say something to a friend like, "Hey, what did you think of so and so's dress last night?" Then they say something like, "Oh was that on last night? I didn't see it." The worst response is, "No, I don't watch much t.v.... don't have time." So then I try to cover up with, " Oh yeah, I didn't see it either, a friend just told me about it.
Well until I am one those people who have more productive things to do than watch overpaid actors walk down the red carpet wearing thousands of dollars of jewelry, and then make pretentious speeches with the inevitable political comments about how crappy our country is...okay enough said, I need to just stick to the fashion! So here are is my worst and best dressed and then I will stop blogging for the day and go do something extraordinary with my day and save a life or something...
or just play "red carpet" with Camryn!!

Worst dressed: Unfortunately Alyssa Milano is Bryan's dream girl...he has had a crush on her since her "Who's the Boss" days, but seriously?

Best Dressed: Brooke Shields is still such a classic beauty! I love this dress...she is gorgeous!

Besides a few really lame political jabs, Tina Fey had a great quote when she gave her acceptance speech...
Tina Fey told the audience, "I thank my parents for somehow raising me to have confidence that is disproportionate with my looks and abilities. Well done. That is what all parents should do."

Zoo day...

We went to Hogle Zoo today and can I say that the three hours we spent there were more exhausting than the two full days I spent at Disneyland. Walking up all those hills about did me in. I guess being pregnant and having not done an ounce of exercise since the day I looked at the positive pregnancy test probably didn't help.
Anyway, it was fun for Camryn and her little friends...

PDDD (Post Disneyland Depression Disorder)

Yes it is true, we are suffering in our house from the post vacation blues... In fact, we got home Sunday night and it is now Tuesday and I still have not left the house other than to go to the grocery store. I keep walking by the laundry room and staring at the still unpacked suitcases and tell myself that I will get to it tomorrow... you know, when I have sufficiently rested my mind and body from the rigorous car trip and the eight Winchells donuts I devoured over the last four days. Poor Camryn is still wearing her "Belle" dress we bought her in Disneyland and keeps telling me she wants to go to Disneyland today and I am having no luck convincing her that watching 'Dora' is just as fun. Go figure.

People, mostly moms, kept telling me how jealous they were when I told them we were going on a family trip to Disneyland and I kept thinking that was a little odd, I mean I have been to Disneyland before (when I was 6) and sure it is fun, but it's not as enviable as Hawaii, or a Mexican cruise or something like that which involves a beach, yummy food, and no crowds. On top of that we were making the 10 hour trip by car since Bry had to stop and work a day in St. George. Well within 20 seconds of walking through the theme park gates I got it. The look on Camryn's face when she saw the castle as soon as we walked in was priceless!! Bry and I kept looking at each other like, "Is this for real? Is she really this cute?"

There is a quote above the entrance at Disneyland that says, "WHERE WE MEET OLD FRIENDS FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME" This quote embodied every experience we had over the next two days. Every time she saw one of the princesses, it was like she had known them forever and she would run to them without any fear or embarrasment and give them hugs and sing them her princess songs. Priceless...absolutely priceless. Bry and I found ourselves waiting in line after line for her to meet princesses and at one point he looked at me and said, "This is better than any ride I could be on right now". I had just as much fun watching Bry as I did Camryn, he was enchanted with her the whole time, and to put it simply....he totally got suckered in!! She wanted a Belle dress so badly and so he took her into one of the princess stores and let her dump out her purse with her money she had saved for the trip ($1.25) and he came out of the store with two bags full of a whole bunch of princess accessories and a look of absolute defeat on his face as he showed me the receipt for $101.00.... I just laughed!
Anyway, it was a fantastic trip full of memories that will be etched in our brains forever. We already spent an hour last night watching the footage of Camryn dancing with the princesses...

And now it's back to real life, laundry and no magic wands to do any of it for me!
