her latest photo shoot...

I swore I wouldn't turn my blog into photo album of Camryn... but we just got these back from funny face photography and they turned out great! She was so much fun this day. She especially loved taking pictures in her Snow White dress... she just ate it right up! I promise to lay off on pics of her for at least a couple of days!!

"Crackers for sale..."

Camryn is so lucky! She lives right across the street from one of the funniest 5 year olds we know! Kendalyn! Camryn pretty much idolizes her so this morning when Kendalyn asked if Camryn could 'work' with her at her 'cracker stand', you can imagine how excited Camryn was... it was pretty cute!! ( I told the girls if they had some cold diet Cokes they could earn some serious cash from the mom's in our hood, but they stuck with the Goldfish!)

Deep thought by Camryn...

While taking a shower with Bry she points at him and says..."Daddy's chicken nuggets"

Oh Paula....

Did anyone watch A.I. last night? Is it just me or does Paula need to be voted off for wearing stuff like this... sooo.... wrong!

Fortunately there was also this last night... soooo......right!

David Cook is officially my favorite. If anyone missed his performance last night, find it somewhere in the internet and watch! It was AWESOME!

Nice Easter weekend...way too much candy!

If I never see one of these again I will be okay. The amount of candy that I ingested this weekend... well is frankly disgusting. I couldn't help myself and I lost all control and ate everything in sight that consisted of chocolate or sugar.

Besides the sugar overload it was probably my favorite Easter weekend in recent memory. Bryan's sister and her family stayed with us with their three adorable little girls it was so much fun to have a house full of giggling... well.... giggles!!

We went to the annual Staheli family Easter gathering at the Farm and I know it sounds cheesy but it was one of those days that I wish could have lasted forever. The flag football game, the egg hunt, my dad's dutch oven potatoes and catching up with cousins just made for the perfect day.
I have posted a picture of all of the family waving white plastic sacks... which looks pretty odd unless you understand the reason for it. My Uncle Steve, who is very sick with pancreatic cancer had been put back in the hospital earlier that morning. He had expressed in the previous days how much he wanted to be at the farm for the Picnic so it was very discouraging that he could not be there with his children and grandchildren. Well we experienced a small miracle when my dad was somehow able to go to the hospital and get him out and bring him to the farm. When we saw them pull into the farm we all lined up along both sides of the dirt road with our sacks to welcome him in. I can't describe the emotion that was felt as everyone was able to hug and kiss Uncle Steve and the happiness that he exuded even in his frail condition just being there with his family. This day will be a day that I will always remember!

"Thanks Obama..."

So Bryan has a new phrase... "Thanks Obama!" He says it to me at least once a day when he thinks I am being too optimistic and trying to reassure him that "everything will be okay". As some people know, our lives have been a little crazy as we prepare for some 'change ' ( another Obama word) and transition in selling our home (as well as a speck home...in a pretty lousy market) and move back to Draper. Bry will still retain his account here at the hospital but has also been given the UVRMC (Orem hospital) which is larger and will require us to live up there. We knew this was a possibility when we moved here, but that doesn't make it any easier to leave my friends and family! I have really loved being back here...okay that's enough, I am already starting to cry here at my computer and just need to stop there! Anyway it has been a little stressful to say the least, so the Obama catchphrase has been a funny little joke around here.

"Piece of cake..."

Yesterday was my mom's birthday... I think she turned 55...right mom?

Anyway I have really been wanting to learn how to make cute cakes and lucky for me one of my good friends, Michelle, has been taking cake decorating classes and offered to help me make a cake for my mom. Turns out these suckers take a lot of time... but it was so satisfying to actually complete something in my life of incomplete projects! Thanks Michelle!

Weekend with the little "Nernaid"

This past weekend Camryn and I went to Salt Lake with my mom and sisters and all the girl cousins to Salt Lake for the 'Disney Princesses on Ice' show. So I must admit that leading up to this little getaway... I had become slightly 'princessed out'. As some of you know, Camryn is in love with, no she is completely obsessed with princesses. It all started about two months ago when she was given a 'snow white' dress-up from her cousins Kate and Annie who have since outgrown this oh so precious phase. The first week of this dress-up phase was a blast. She would eat, sleep, and drink (literally) in this dress and I mean with the whole getup...plastic red heels and all and I absolutely ate it up! Well this cute phase slowly evolved into a daily brawl with Camryn and myself as I would try and pry the slightly stinky and tattered dress off her body so she could wear the cute, real clothes I had been so excited to have her wear. It doesn't just end with the dress either. If we pass anything in a store that even remotely resembles a princess, a full tantrum follows. It gets worse. A few weeks ago, my mom bought her one of those silky, cheesy little mermaid nightgowns and Snow White has now been officially 'dumped' for the Little Nernaid, as she calls it and now she wants to wear the nightgown all day long!

I must say though... even after a couple of weeks of very negative feelings towards all disney princessess, the look on her face when Snow White came out on the ice made it all well worth it!

Holy Blogging Batman!!

Okay...so I was going to just start my blog with posts....like the random 'skinny cow' post and save myself from the maddening and completely mind numbing "first blog" monologue.

I decided to try blogging after some serious 'encouragement' from a couple of friends who shall remain nameless...(Michelle and Kali ) but every time I sat down to start my first post I completely froze in front of my computer and ended up drinking way too much Diet Coke to keep me awake. Then I would peruse other blogs and feel completely intimidated by the whole process because of all the 'creativity' going on with these serious blogggers. With all of the slideshows, cool backgrounds, collages and witty captions... someone like me who has only recently learned how to text message at a decent pace would feel pretty discouraged. So a few nights ago my 'nameless' friends came over after the kiddies were all in bed to have a 'bloggin' night. They convinced me I just needed to write something and get over myself. I happened to be eating a skinny cow at the time and thus the blog about it...

Anyway I am just too OCD to not have an intro blog... so this was it...there...I have officially entered the 'safe zone' and I am here to blog!

The Skinny on the Skinny

During the last 4 days of house arrest, otherwise known as potty training, this is the only thing shining star. The moment I look forward to all day long, every day. I have a date every night: my couch, my tivo and my skinny cow. My favorite flavor- cookies and cream, of course.
